Commissioning A Pet Portrait

Thank you for your interest, however, I’m currently NOT accepting commission orders.

My pet portraits are based on a photograph of your pet, which I then sketch onto canvas, and complete with acrylic paint. I focus on the unique details that might capture the spirit and personality of the beloved pet, doing my best to translate that onto canvas. The eyes are an important feature to me, as they really bring “life” to the portrait. No digital tools are used in the process of creating the portrait. The end product is a vibrant painting full of personality and depth.

Things to be considered:

• Size of canvas (see below for size and price options)

• What details should be included in the portrait (would you like to include the collar shown in the photo, or feature the pet name on the portrait? Etc.)

• Would you like me to choose the background colour of the portrait, or did you have a colour in mind? Here are examples of portrait background colour options:

Once you have sent your initial contact email, I will reply to your email with the request for you to send through the photo of your pet.

Photo Requirements:

You will need to provide a clear photo that shows your pet in the portrait pose that you would like to see in the final pet portrait. Most importantly, the eyes need to be clear and detailed (not blurry) as that is the element that truly brings life to the portrait. Smart phone photos are fine, so long as they haven’t been extensively filtered or edited through social media or photo editing applications, as that tends to reduce resolution of the photo.

• 10”X10” PORTRAIT STARTs AT $350 CAD

• 12”X12” PORTRAIT STARTs AT $400 CAD

• 16”X16” PORTRAIT STARTs AT $525 CAD

• 20”X20” PORTRAIT STARTs AT $625 CAD

This is a general pricing and size guide. All paintings are acrylic on canvas. Prices subject to change based on extent of portrait detail. Sizes can be adjusted to rectangular format. Listed prices are for single animals with either a plain or simple tonal background.

A 50% deposit is required to confirm the commission, with the remainder due upon delivery of painting. Shipping within Canada is included in the above listed prices. I’m happy to ship internationally, and will advise of any extra shipping costs depending on your location prior to booking.
